Deja-vu?

Almost five years ago, we took off from our home in Dongara for a twelve month trip around Australia. That twelve months turned into almost eighteen and I would have kept going forever. I loved the caravan life. John loved it too but he also liked the idea of having a base – something we didn’t have at the time.

Five years on and we have our base but are ready for another, albeit shorter, trip. This week we will leave our home in Kalbarri, and head north. With road closures, due to Cyclone Narelle, expensive fuel due to the war in the Middle East, not to mention fuel shortages in some areas, we will take things as they come but hopefully have a fairly uneventful trip to Darwin.

Meantime, we have been preparing our trusty Emu Expedition Caravan for our journey. During our round-Australia trip, we gave her a real work out with lots of off-road driving but this time we will be taking it easier, sticking more to the bitumen. Maybe. Perhaps, Possibly. But we do love free camping and hope to do more of that. Caravan parks are no longer our thing. We like the quiet of more remote locations. However, we will see what adventures this holiday will bring.

So excited to be getting back into the van.

Thanks for allowing us to share your adventures! Yes, there’s a couple of potholes happening in the north, but that just makes it more exciting, eh? Sit back, relax & rel in the bitumen. Cheers!
